What does the D stand for in 40d or D60 for Digital SLR's
On the Nikons (D40, D300, D3, etc.) the D stand for their Digital slr series. On a Canon, that just stands for one part of their digital slr product line. Example: Canon XTi, Xsi, etc.
Incidently, Canon uses different names for the same cameras in different international markets. One of their digital SLR's is called the KISS in Japan, but you can imagine that migfht not go over well in the USA.
