Will lenses for an old Nikon FT2 steel body fit a Nikon D60 or will I need an adapter?

Im wanting to buy some old Lenses off ebay… But im not sure if i need an adapter ring and the seller isnt sure. Can someone help me out?

They will fit, since both cameras use "F" mount lenses.

No adapter is necessary.

The problem you will have is unique to entry level Nikon cameras (D40(x), D60, D3000 and D5000). They are designed to be used with AF-S Nikkor lenses. AF lenses can be used on your D60, but will have to be manually focused. Manual focus lenses can be used on your camera, but you will not be able to use the cameras light meter.

Any of the more advanced Nikon cameras (D90, D70, D50, etc) can use older legacy lenses (of course you will have to manually focus them)

Are the VR lenses on the Nikon D60 worth the extra money over non VR lenses?

There is a 2 lens kit Nikon D60 going for $800 at a major retailer but they are non VR lenses. The same camera withVR lenses is $200 more. Is the extra money worth it for the VR lenses?

Nikons VR works very well. It compensates for camea motion so it is of particular worth when you are shooting lower light and the camers has a slower shutter speed or when you have a longer lens where there is lens shake. As to the slower shutter speed it will let you shoot a couple settings lower handheld than you normally can. I would personally say its well worth it. But everyone has to decide that by themselves
