Nikon EN-EL9 aftermarket battery D40 D40x D60

Monday Mar 8, 2010

Got 2 aftermarket EN-EL9 batteries with higher capacity. Rated at 1800mah, where the OEM one is 1000mah. Both aftermarket and OEM batteries have exact same voltage reading measured with my multimeter. The cells are made in Japan and assembled in China. Put both in my battery grip and so far got over 700 pictures.

The 2200mah is just a higher capacity battery which should last longer than the original Nikon one. As long as the voltage output is the same, then it should be fine.

Thanks for this …
Thanks for this video man! I was just wondering about buying batteries for my d40. And now I know – thx to You – that it will work good, and it will not harm my d40. But I don’t know anything about batteries with 2200mAh capicity. What do You think about that? Can I go for it?

I keep the original nikon battery in my grip along with an aftermarket. Seems to be doing the trick just fine. Thanks for taking the time. So far, I’ve had great luck with my aftermarket batteries…
