I think it is just an upgrade to the d40x. Doesnt it also have similar features.

The sensor cleaning and dust reduction is just fluff. In the consumer market Nikon is aiming this model at, not a lot are going to be constantly changing lenses.

The adaptive dynamic range (active d-lighting, a feature shared with the D3/D300) is the real benefit of the D60 over the D40x. Unfortunately few people will realize that's what's improving their pictures.

Any of the new entry level DSLRs from Nikon (D60) , Pentax (K200D) , Canon (Rebel XSi) and Sony A200 should be marvelous cameras.

It's just an update of D40X…
Just buy a D40, it's more than enough…

Well, let's see what Ken Rockwell has to say:

It's brilliant — all the camera you'll ever need!

Beats the $200,000 high-definition UV-VHD HMST that I consulted on in the 1980's!

Absolutely no coma, vignetting or chromatic aberration!

Plus the colours are so wild you'll think you live in San Diego!

Wanna see my Mercedes?
