The D60 is a high-performance DX format digital SLR with a 10.2 megapixel resolution. Easy to use and easy to handle, it is the perfect way to explore the magic of digital SLR photography. Everyday situations can be trusted to the camera in AUTO mode, or you can try one of its many options for more creative control. In-camera creative features are easily accessible via an intuitive menu. Convenience is highlighted by a rotating information display that follows the orientation of the camera, a self-cleaning internal mechanism, and a sensor located in the viewfinder that turns off the monitor. With a near-instant start-up time and a small, light body, this camera is ready to go with you anywhere. The D60 – stunning photography is just a step away.
The D60 18-55 VR KIT includes the AF-S DX VR NIKKOR 18-55mm lens. Perfect for a wide variety of situations, this lens features built-in Vibration Reduction (VR) to combat camera shake and allow much slower shutter speeds (up to three stops) to be used.
Camera and accessories included in the full package kit of a recently purchased 15 megapixels Canon EOS 500D / Rebel T1i (USA) / Kiss X3 (Japan) Digital SLR camera.
One caveat to the kit is the lack of a complimentary memory card. My advice is to separately purchase an SD or SDHC memory card(s) as well as a spare battery to get you started. The battery is the same LP-E5 type used by the Canon EOS 450D / Rebel XSi (USA) / Kiss X2 (Japan). Optional accessories are: Battery grip (same used by the 450D / XSi / Kiss X2), Remote Shutter Trigger, UV lens filter, polarizer lens filter, and a decent cone, crown, or petal-shaped lens hood for the kit lens.
I rarely use the kit lens. (At the time of my purchase, the store only had the kit package and not the camera body by itself.) Instead, I switch between a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Mark II prime lens, or an older Canon EF 35-70mm lens but at a 1.6x crop factor due to the APS-C size CMOS sensor utilized by the 500D camera unit.
I hope all this information will be useful to consumers interested in purchasing the Canon EOS 500D / Rebel T1i (USA) / Kiss X3 (Japan) Digital SLR camera.
