Hi everyone!
This is my first video, and a look at a 3rd party battery grip for the Nikon D40/x. The one in the video was purchased from Ebay seller LinkDelightOz for around AUD$50, which I felt was an excellent price for the product.
You can usually also add a few extra dollars and they will send you an extra battery, which I didn’t do because I prefer genuine Nikon batteries, and you can also get a battery grip with an LCD screen if you want to pay twice as much. I would’ve taken that option if I had the money.
Hope you enjoy the vid!
Matt (and his Nikon, of course!)
P.S. Search “Nikon D40 Battery Grip” On Ebay and you should find the seller, amongst many others. There is a new model grip out and I’ve no idea what it’s like.

This is a Targus Battery Grip for Nikon D40/D40x/D60 on a D3000
Purchased at local Radioshack for about $30
Includes an adapter for either 6 AA batteries or 2 Nikon EN-EL9 lithium battery
*For vertical shutter button it uses an IR beam to remote trigger the camera.(set to remote release mode)

BP-D60 grip mounted on D3000. No need to pop out IR sensor, no on/off button, AF works ok, patterning matches camera body quite good. Easy two step IR activation on camera. Since there is no Nikon grip for the D3000, this aftermarket product seems to be worth buying.

Camera and accessories included in the full package kit of a recently purchased 15 megapixels Canon EOS 500D / Rebel T1i (USA) / Kiss X3 (Japan) Digital SLR camera.
One caveat to the kit is the lack of a complimentary memory card. My advice is to separately purchase an SD or SDHC memory card(s) as well as a spare battery to get you started. The battery is the same LP-E5 type used by the Canon EOS 450D / Rebel XSi (USA) / Kiss X2 (Japan). Optional accessories are: Battery grip (same used by the 450D / XSi / Kiss X2), Remote Shutter Trigger, UV lens filter, polarizer lens filter, and a decent cone, crown, or petal-shaped lens hood for the kit lens.
I rarely use the kit lens. (At the time of my purchase, the store only had the kit package and not the camera body by itself.) Instead, I switch between a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Mark II prime lens, or an older Canon EF 35-70mm lens but at a 1.6x crop factor due to the APS-C size CMOS sensor utilized by the 500D camera unit.
I hope all this information will be useful to consumers interested in purchasing the Canon EOS 500D / Rebel T1i (USA) / Kiss X3 (Japan) Digital SLR camera.
